Lingular Consolidation Treatment

9 yr old came to clinic with complaints of cough, fever, cold, left sided chest pain while coughing, rusty sputum. Toxic look and giddiness was present.

On examination, respiratory system- inspiratory crepitation were present over mammary, infra axillary and infra scapular area. Tubular bronchial breathing, increase vocal resonance and VF.

wbc was 52,600, shifted to left, PS- leukemoid reaction. Chest X RAY showed- lingular consolidation. Patient was poor for sputum culture and sensitivity.

Treatment started with I/V ceftriaxone, azithromycin, cough syrup, NSAIDs and supportive care.

WBC were 19200 on 2nd day. WBC- 8600 on 3rd day. Discharged on day 6th WBC count was 7100. Now Doing well. Saved another life.
