Patient ~65 year came to clinic. presenting complaints of weakness left upper limb and lower limb. Deviation of angle of mouth to right side. Slurring of speech. She was a known case of systemic hypertension and postmenopausal. Diagnosed with stroke (LAKAVA) left hemiplegia left SN facial palsy.

On examination vitals (BP, TEMPERATURE, PULSE, RESPIRATION) were stable. power was grade 5 in right upper as well as lower limb. And grade 0 in left upper limb as well as lower limb. Left supranuclear facial palsy was present.

So we went with CT scan of brain. And found Infarct, so it was ischemic stroke.

LAKAVA Stroke Treatment

Started treatment in ICU with Aspirin 150 mg OD, Atorvastatin 40mg, Citicoline 500mg tid, Furosemide 40 mg, physiotherapy and supportive care.

patient walked within a day and discharged on next day. After 3 days she was having grade 5 power in left upper limb as well as lower limb. She is doing well.
